Thomas W. Pritchard (Tommy), Co-Founder/Partner
Tommy has a quarter of a century of investment banking/financial history, beginning his professional career in 1984 with Drexel Burnham Lambert. Eventual moves brought him to Bear Stearns, Jefferies and Johnson Rice.
Tommy and three partners founded Offshore Tool and Energy, Inc., in 1997. OTEC grew through a series of acquisitions to an oilfield services company employing hundreds of people and generating over $100mm in revenues. The firm was sold in 2001 to London Merchant Securities.
During this period Tommy formed Pritchard Capital Partners, LLC where he built a relationship-driven business that became widely recognized by both peers and publications as one of the top energy research/trading and investment banking boutiques in the United States. Over a period of ten years, Pritchard Capital Partners participated in raising over $18 billion in capital for firms in the oil and gas industry. In addition the firm provided trading and research services annually to over 150 energy companies. Pritchard Capital Partners marketing efforts introduced and organized the popular Energize conference series on the West Coast that developed into one of the premier annual showcase events for over 100+ public oil and gas companies and 300+ institutional investors. As Founder of Pritchard Capital, Tommy served as CEO and Managing Director of the organization and was responsible for branding the firm as a trusted advisor among several thousand buy and sell-side clients.
Pritchard Capital Partners was sold in 2011/2012, and in June 2012, Tommy became Managing Director in charge of the Energy Investment Banking division of Imperial Capital . After playing a role in raising over $1 billion of debt capital while at Imperial, Pritchard formed Pritchard Energy Advisors, LLC in June 2014 , establishing a Houston office. In September 2015, Tommy teamed up with partner Ken Griffin to form Pritchard Griffin Advisors.
Tommy obtained his undergraduate degree in Geology at Washington and Lee University. He is married to Louisiana-native Haifleigh Pritchard and has 4 sons.
Kenneth H. Griffin (Ken), Co-Founder/Partner
Ken Griffin has over 30 years experience serving the financial needs of major corporations. As a CPA with McGladrey & Pullen for 12 years, Ken was a Senior Manager focused on Audit and Accounting and client development. In 1996, he joined Washington-based Taylor Companies, an international banking firm, as Chief Financial Officer; he was assigned Chief Operating Officer responsibilities two years later. Shortly thereafter, Ken was given the opportunity to join Taylor’s investment banking deal team, where he served in a variety of positions, ultimately being named Managing Director and, finally, head of Taylor’s Strategic Investment Banking division. During his tenure with Taylor, Ken served in leadership roles on transactions valued at over $10 billion.
In 2008, Ken helped establish BGR Capital & Trade as the boutique investment banking arm of BGR Group, the Washington powerhouse government affairs firm founded by Gov. Haley Barbour. During his tenure with BGR, Ken closed numerous capital raising projects including a $200mm raise for an oil & gas project in Cook Inlet, Alaska, a $150mm raise for the post-Katrina refurbishment of the New Orleans Hyatt, and a $15mm raise for the construction of the first Hilton-branded hotel in Iraq. In 2014, he joined Georgetown-based BroadBranch Advisors as Managing Director with oversight of transactional investment banking activities.
Ken has successfully advised public and private companies throughout North America and Europe as well as in South America, Africa and the Middle East and has headed up projects for major multi-national clients such as General Electric, Baxter International, McDermott International, Dow Chemical, Kone Corporation and Chiquita. In 2006, he managed the divestiture of Egypt’s largest pharmaceutical company.
Ken is a 1984 graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Accounting, and he has served in numerous local and state-wide offices for the North Carolina Association of CPAs. He has been a guest speaker at North Carolina State’s Poole College of Management as well as making guest appearances on Fox News, CNBC, and Bloomberg News.
Peter J. O'Hara
Peter has over 25 years of mergers and acquisitions experience and has completed over 75 transactions in a wide range of industries with a combined value of approximately $10 billion. His clients have included Fortune 500 multinational corporations as well as small to mid-sized private companies. Peter has held positions with Wall Street investment banks as well as Corporate Development/M&A positions for two publicly-traded global technology companies. While at PSINet, Peter was responsible for a roll-up strategy in the internet industry completing over 20 transactions in the U.S. and Europe in less than a two-year period. Peter has an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a BS in Finance from Villanova University.
